Conceived by Asha Parekh for Star Plus, Kora Kagaz tackled a bold subject: a young woman Pooja (Renuka Shahane) from a conservative family is abandoned by her husband on her wedding night, for another woman. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, Pooja tried to put her life back together, with the help of her brother-in-law, played by cricketer-turned-actor Salil Ankola.
